1. Find More Mattresses – You know what I mean. Can your primary bank handle the amount of funds you are about to receive? Or, do you have relationships with enough banks to handle the distribution? I’m always a fan or having many baskets for my eggs (maybe I’m just thinking about this on Easter 😊) so make sure that you have proper treasury strategies in place to accommodate potentially 2.5X of the amount of your CARES Act Relief Fund.

2. Staff Up – Have a few vacancies in your Financial Department? Get those salary ranges in order (hint: increase them) and start hiring some help. You will need additional hands on deck for the accounting, budgeting, treasury, payroll, AP, grant, and procurement functions. Now’s the time to get people onboarded with sleeves rolled up.

3. CFO Advisory – You know what they say, “more money, more problems.” It can absolutely be a truth when the day job is enough to handle alone.
