INBOX MONEY

Resources for Enrichment

My intention for this series, Inbox Money (a play on “Mailbox Money”) is that something I say, or a topic I raise, adds value to your life in some way. Simply, I intend to share a curated snapshot of recent experiences, reads, and resources that I’ve personally found enriching and valuable.

If a piece of content isn’t relevant to you, skip it and go to the next thing.

Stewarding legacy takes time, of course.

Transformational Talk

Oklahoma Tribal Finance Consortium

October was filled with travel and speaking. I’ve needed to say no to speaking engagements for a while now, but this month I said yes to two.

First was the Women’s Leadership panel at the Oklahoma Tribal Finance Consortium. A packed room of woman (and men) came to hear us talk about our personal career journeys, whether as entrepreneurs or as Tribal Leaders. For me, it was both, and my takeaway to the audience was “Be More of You” because, seriously, we need you to be more of you.

The second speaking engagement was for The Female Quotient on Indigenous Women in the Workplace. I spoke on how culture directed my path of entrepreneurship and of the importance of Native women on boards, while also giving practical advice on how corporations can meaningfully collaborate with Native women.

Hear from me at the following timestamps:

6:43 – 7:08 – Introduction, who you are, what you do, and what brings you joy post Indigenous People’s Day?

19:54 – 21:12 – What role does community and cultural identity play in the career progression of indigenous women? How can the workplace honor that to create places of belonging for indigenous women?

45:21 – 47:06 – Do you find that leaders are not asking the right questions to expand their diversity and representation efforts? What questions would you like asked or addressed?

58:36 – 59:08 – Closing Thought/Call to action

Gerber Taylor’s Investor Summit

I was an invited guest to Gerber Taylor’s annual investor summit at the President George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas, TX. Themes included FinTech, AI, credit strategies, and more. As an investor, it is important for me to continuously learn from others, and I appreciated the invite. Here’s a recent article on my answer to a question I get all the time: “How Should I Invest My Tribe’s Money?” Hopefully this helps serve as a guide for doing your due diligence on creating a process and hiring the right team.

> Fuel Your Future >>>

Congratulations to my dear friend Erica Orange on the launch of her book: AI + The New Human Frontier! Erica is a Futurist and COO of The Future Hunters in NY.

Erica and her family are very important people in my life. I have a deep respect for their 50+ year track record of results, and for being the original Futurists. These pages took me through a bittersweet experience of the pricelessness of human life, while also recognizing how humanity is rapidly integrating technologies. If our spirit lives forever, will also our digital lives?
