The Weight of the Seat

You earned the seat. Nobody warned you how heavy it gets.

You're capable... you wouldn't be here otherwise. But the weight is heavier than expected. Everyone brings you the expensive, difficult decisions. You inherited systems, history, relationships, and problems you didn't create. You may know the technically right answer, but not how it lands with leadership, what you're missing, or what happens three moves later. And too much of the job gets figured out alone, quietly wondering if you're seeing the whole board.

Native-Led Solutions for Native Problems

The answer was never outside advice. It's a trusted Native mind in the room.

The big firms parachute in and tell Tribes what they "should" do. That was never the answer. Native Nations already hold the knowledge, the education, and the wisdom to solve our own problems. What's missing isn't outside answers... it's someone who's carried the same weight, in the room with you, bringing judgment, pattern recognition, perspective, access, and the right expertise around the table. So you see every decision from all sides and decide with certainty yourself. This isn't dependency. This is sovereignty in practice.

She's Sat in the Chair

This isn't advice from the outside. It's recognition from someone who's lived it.

Acquired or advised through Native Advisory

Lacey Horn served two full terms as Treasurer and CFO of the Cherokee Nation, operating with COO reach and a CPA and auditor's pattern-recognition. Then she stepped up to her next level... serving other Nations. She doesn't recognize your situation from a case study. She recognizes it because she's carried exactly what you carry.

Tribal CFO Advisory™

A standing seat at your table for the year.

A trusted Native financial executive in your corner from day one, so you see the whole board, pressure-test the hard calls before you make them, and walk into every room clearer, faster, and more certain.

Recurring working sessions with Lacey

Workshop your biggest challenges, opportunities, and priorities, directly with the person who's held the seat.

Direct access between sessions

Send the email, text the question, "look at this before I walk into Council." When it's consequential, you reach out.

The Native Advisory bench behind you

When a decision needs more than advice, the right expertise is brought in and executed for you.

You're not buying access because Lacey knows every answer. You're buying access because she knows how to see the decision, ask what others won't ask, bring the right expertise to it, and help you move. She elevates the leader. She never replaces them.

Get us in your corner now... so day one of your next challenge is already covered.

Before You Decide

Why now, not later?

The next consequential decision is already on its way, and you don't get to schedule when it arrives. Better to have the trusted mind in the room before the vote than wish you had after.

Isn't this what our outside firm is for?

Firms either parachute in and leave or they burrow and stay forever. This is a standing seat at your table, held by someone who's Native, who's sat in the chair, and who's still in it with you between the sessions... not just at the deadline.

Does this replace me or my team?

No. The work is built to make you stronger. You know what deserves your attention, you communicate your position more clearly, and your team gets stronger. You operate at the level the role requires.

Who is this actually for?

Tribal CFOs and senior Tribal finance leaders carrying consequential financial responsibility, who want a trusted Native mind beside them. It's not for anyone seeking a rubber stamp, the lowest price, or advice without a willingness to act.

The hardest decisions of your term shouldn't be carried alone.

Put a trusted Native mind in the room who's carried the same weight. See what you can't see alone. Walk in with certainty, instead of feeling cornered.

What is Native Advisory?

Native Advisory is a Native-led, 100% Cherokee-woman-owned advisory firm.

We work beside Tribal leaders such as Chiefs, Chairs, elected officials, CFOs, administrators, and healthcare and enterprise executives when a decision is consequential and the right answer isn't obvious. Financial, operational, governmental, capital, institutional. We start wherever the hardest decision is.

Native Advisory was founded by Lacey Horn (Cherokee Nation). She served two terms, eight years in total, as Treasurer and CFO of the Cherokee Nation, the largest Tribe in the country, and oversaw the finances of the largest Tribally managed healthcare system. Those eight years included eight clean audits in a row and $2.3B of federal funds spent, while the budget doubled from $600M to $1.2B, during a time of federal budget cuts. When her second term ended, she turned that experience toward serving other Tribes. Since then, Native Advisory has acquired or advised on $3.1 billion.

We're based in Vian, Oklahoma and Dallas, Texas and work with Tribal Nations across the country.

Behind all of it is one belief: Tribes should own the expertise that shapes our future. Native Advisory makes Tribal sovereignty operational.
